Real work,
early.

Interns and analysts at Ladd & Co. work on live mandates behind the deal teams: research, target work, materials, and models, with output reviewed by the people who run the engagements. The work is real from the first week, and it is treated that way.

The firm

Ladd & Co. is a private advisory firm acting for principals, families, and private institutions across nine cities, on matters that reward discretion: transactions, capital, structuring, and the situations between them. If this page is your first contact with the firm, start with who we are.

  4. 4Self-designated. The firm does not disclose client identities, transaction details, or engagement outcomes.

The programmes

Two ways in, both built around
the firm's live work.

Both are listed on the positions page with their timing and city.

The Internship.

Rolling intake, remote-first, structured around a
defined piece of the firm's live work. You will be
given real responsibility, a named supervisor,
and honest feedback. Strong interns are invited
to continue.

The Analyst Intake.

For final-year students and recent graduates.
Analysts sit behind the execution teams across
M&A, capital, and structuring work, and the path
from analyst upward is real and earned.

The work

A typical week holds target research and screening against a mandate’s criteria, a model to pressure-test or comparables to defend, and materials a principal will read, which is why every line is reviewed first by the person who runs the engagement. Around it sit the mechanics that keep live work moving: data rooms, trackers, and call notes that hold up a month later.

You will not touch a client conversation before you are ready, and you will not be kept from one once you are. Feedback is direct and specific, at every review.

How you develop

Development here is an apprenticeship.

You sit behind live work with a named supervisor, your output is reviewed in detail by the people who run the engagements, and you are given the next harder thing the moment you are ready for it.

The firm's materials, models, and playbooks are open to you from the first week, and the standard you are held to is the same one the firm is held to.

The path

Strong interns are invited to continue; the invitation is the point of the programme. The analyst intake feeds the execution teams, and analysts who deliver move toward associate and beyond. We are building across all nine offices, and a firm that is building promotes on delivery, not tenure.

What we look for

Specifics, not polish. The applications that advance name real work, real markets, and real outcomes, and read like they were written for this firm rather than for a hundred firms at once.

We care what you have actually done and how you think, more than where you studied.

Three practical notes:

Write the application for this firm rather than adapting a general one.

Name what you did, with numbers where they exist.

And if you use AI to draft it, use it well; the process ahead tests exactly that.

How it works

The same process as every hire
at this firm: apply, a short screening call, a piece of work, and a final
conversation.

The piece of work is a compressed version of the real job, and yes, you may use any tools you like, including AI. We are testing your judgement and your sources, not your typing. Read how we hire.

Prepare

Everything you need arrives as you need it:

a preparation page when you book the screening call, a written brief with the rules and the deadline at the work step, and exactly what the final conversation will cover. Nothing is designed to surprise you.

Questions.

Do I need a finance degree?

No. We care what you have done and how you think, more than what you studied. Every discipline has produced good analysts.

What are the terms?

Each listing states its terms, format, and city.

When do intakes open?

The internship runs on rolling intake. Analyst intake openings are listed on the positions page with their timing and city.

What does the piece of work look like for students?

A live-style exercise, a compressed version of the analyst job, with a deadline and open tools, including AI. The process page explains it in full.

Is the internship remote?

Remote-first, structured around a defined piece of live work. Some analyst seats are office-based; each listing states its format.

Will I work with the people who run the mandates?

Yes. Your output is reviewed by them, your final conversation is with them, and if you join, you sit behind their work.

Apply through the open positions,
or submit a general application
if no listed role fits.
